Having fun wherever my KLR takes me...

Yesterday got a chance to try out my new Bilt Tempest gloves. Left out to work around 0400 or so in the morning. It was a little chilly around 30+ degrees. Definelty windproof. The cuffs went over my duty uniform sleeves keeping the air from going right up them. It was awesome not having cold brick hands on my 20 or so minute ride to work. They kept me comfortable and moderately warm. Bulk...... Lost a little feel for the clutch and brake and a bit more when operating my signals. If they were any more bulkier. They would not be used again. They are waterproof! Awesome plus. Great price and value for the product. They were bought at Cyclegear for only $19.99. Overall so far, i'm happy with the buy. By the way. Cyclegear has a site where they can be purchased. Have a good day everyone and stay warm.

Just a little something. MEAD. Mead is amazing. It tastes great and thought i'd give it a try brewing a batch of my own. So far turning out amazing. I'm finding out you can totally make your own brews without dropping a bunch of money on store bought stuff. Only difference it the waiting.... Well the batch I made will give me about 4 bottles of 750ml size for about $10.00 worth of supplies. To buy my normal Mead at the shop it would cost me $80 to $100 for the same. The only other plus is being able to claim I made it myself. Can't wait to share with some friends when it stops fermenting and mellows out. Just wish there was more of a following out there for Mead. If you don't know what it is. It's a Honey wine. Bunch of stuff there out on the net about it. By the way. I haven't done much riding lately. Got really cold. Only updates about the bike. Got a Batman symbol put on my windshield now (I love Batman!). Got some winter gloves. Haven't rode with them yet. Will talk about this later and some pics when I get the chance.

Just a little background about my KLR.
Well had my KLR for the past year. It's a 09 new style of the 20+ year old design. So far only did a few mods to the bike. Installed a larger windscreen from Zero Gravity windscreens. Much nicer. The wind hits high now compared to the stock screen. Makes for a nicer ride. Chopped the stock KLR front fender beak off with my Dremel. Feels more stable at higher speeds and during the summer allows more air into the radiator to keep it engine temp down. Added Acerbis hand guards from the stock non protective windsails they are. Changed the front sprocket from the 15 tooth to the 16 tooth. Heck of a lot better ride on the road now and still enough to take me off the beaten path. A nice size Pelican top case bolted directly on the rack. Waterproof, lockable, and holds a bunch o' stuff. Took all the stock Kawi decals off and started putting cool random decals on. If anyone has any awesome decals to send me. Shoot me an E-mail (combatmedic777@yahoo.com). My idea of a paint job for this bike is decals every inch of the bike. Have the stuff for the "Doo" upgrade. Just haven't done it yet. Bad me. Have the materials to install a 12v outlet and have yet to install that too. Still this bike is a work in progress and mighty fun. Probably have done more stuff, but it escapes my mind right now. BTW Great on GAS!
Took the little one out.
Found a nice little place around the Fort Bragg area to set up a little day trip with my Son Richard. It was behind a neighborhood that is an area of Bragg. I set up the awesome hammock I bought from ENO (Eagle Nest Outfitters) and started a little campfire to cook up some noodles and hot chocolate (since it's gotten a bit cold out lately). A small pond was there too. So tried our hand at fishing it. Definitely nothing in it. Looks like if it was to get stocked. It would be awesome to fish. Was fun walking around exploring the area. Then headed home.

Adventure Unplanned?
Short but sweet. Doing whatever comes to mind. From the simple to a little thought out. The Fayetteville, NC area has places many don't see. All it's about is taking off and heading out going "I wonder whats down this way".
